This page outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information, as well as how you can request the deletion of your data in compliance with Meta's developer policies and the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

  • Survey Responses: Ratings and feedback regarding higher education institutions in Malaysia across various service quality dimensions.
  • Authentication Data: If you choose to log in via Facebook, we may receive your basic profile information (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) as authorized by you through the Meta authentication process.
  • Technical Data: We may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and device information to prevent fraudulent voting and ensure the security of our platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used for the following purposes:

  • Rankings Generation: To aggregate student satisfaction scores and publish independent rankings of Malaysian higher education institutions.
  • Verification: To ensure the integrity of our rankings by preventing duplicate or fraudulent responses.
  • Communication: To respond to your inquiries or provide updates regarding the UQual project.
  • Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve the user experience of uqual.net.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. We only publish aggregated and anonymized data in our rankings. Individual responses are kept confidential.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Once the data is no longer needed for aggregation or verification, it is securely deleted or anonymized. Backup systems are typically purged within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

Under data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and Malaysian data protection regulations), you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data

6. Data Deletion Instructions

In compliance with Meta's policies, we provide clear methods for users to request the deletion of their data obtained through Facebook Login or our survey platform.

Method 1: Email Request

Send a data deletion request to: privacy@uqual.net

Include your full name and the email address associated with your account/Facebook login. We will process the request within 7 business days.

Method 2: Facebook Data Deletion Callback

If you authorized UQual through Facebook Login, you can request deletion via Facebook:

  1. Go to your Facebook Settings & Privacy > Settings
  2. Select Apps and Websites
  3. Find UQual Reviews (or UQual Page Manager)
  4. Click Remove and select Delete all data
